Miscellaneous
"From the time I came to St. Denis, one of the things that was most evident to me was a sense of ownership that parishioners felt. I experienced the same at Our Lady of the Wayside. This feeling can be expressed very simply; it is 'our parish, it is our Church.' That is truly admirable. And so, every parishioner should have some input in the decision making process at St. Denis," says Parish Administrator Fr. Jose Shaji.
One of the things that came out at the Town Hall meetings was that the parishioners should have a say and be informed when major decisions are made that affect the parish community. Most every decision is made at the Pastoral Council and Finance Council meetings. And whenever major decisions need to be made the parishioners will be informed. And this way it is possible for each one of us to feel responsible for St. Denis Parish as a whole.
ST. DENIS PARISH MEMORIAL GARDEN
The Stations of the Cross have been installed by Brother Joseph
Aspell, SM, the artist. You are welcome
to walk and pray in the garden.
We thank God for the generosity of the Lucas and Oswald
families. Many others have contributed. The statue of Mary, Mother of
Compassion, was given in memory of Barbara Mape Skarston. The fountain is a
gift from the John A. Sobrato and Susan Sobrato Fund in memory of Anne Sobrato.
The Crown of Thorns was given by Tim and Sarah Howard in memory of Thomas
Michael Howard. The Stations of the Cross have not yet been completed by
Brother Joseph Aspell, the artist. We will bless them and recognize their
donors at the end of summer.
