Dear Parishioners,
We begin another liturgical year with the First Sunday of Advent. The purpose of Advent is to help us to prepare ourselves for the celebration of the Birth of Christ. The readings of this season tell us how God prepared the people of Israel for the Birth of the Savior, Jesus Christ. We are the beneficiaries of all the promises God made to the people of Israel. May this season of Advent help us to appreciate the great blessings that God has given us in the person of Jesus Christ.
We inaugurate the giving tree on the first Sunday of Advent. I am very grateful to Joan Barada who is chairing the project this year. I would like to invite you all to participate in it. May our generosity bring joy and cheer to those who are not as blessed and fortunate as we are, during the Christmas season!
