Dear Parishioners,
The first reading and the Gospel reading of this Sunday are basically hospitality stories. When three strangers visit Abraham, he responds with hospitality. And in the second reading we see Martha and Mary receiving Jesus into their homes and offering him hospitality. Hospitality was an esteemed virtue in the ancient world. It is a virtue that is necessary even today. Practicing of this virtue is not invitation to welcome every stranger into our homes and to be always welcoming our close friends. But we really begin to practice this virtue when we begin to treat every person with respect and honour.
I would like to welcome Fr. Joseph B. Gaglione, CSSp, a Holy Ghost Father who will be celebrating the weekend Masses on the 24th and 25th of July at St. Denis. The second collection next weekend will be taken to continue the missionary work of the Holy Ghost Fathers, Brothers and Lay Missionaries.
