Sixth Sunday of Easter

May 9, 2010

Dear Parishioners,

In the Gospel reading of this weekend we hear Jesus say, "Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my father will love him and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him." The word often used is abide. The word abide is used many times in the Gospel of John. This word is often translated as live, remain, make our home or make our dwelling. God abides in us. The trinity abides in us. God is not distant from us. And when we can fully grasp and understand that God abides in us our lives will change. Fear, anxiety, anger will give way to peace, joy and love.

I would like to congratulate the twelve children who received First Communion this Sunday at Our Lady of the Wayside Church:

Georgia Behrens
Dominic Constantz
Gwendolyn McGarry
Lindsay Skrabo
Nora Brew
Benny Garver
Nikki Molumphy
Paige Skrabo
John Canessa
Emily McGarry
Madeleine Schweitzer
Xabier Sullivan

Congratulations! May God bless you.

Yours Sincerely,
Fr. Jose Shaji, Pastor
