Fifth Sunday of Easter

May 2, 2010

Dear Parishioners,

In the Gospel reading of this Sunday Jesus says, "As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." What Jesus has asked us to do is love one another. This commandment is not anything new. But, Jesus has set a new standard, "As I have loved you." Love makes us instruments of God's providence, compassion and care in the lives of others. Our love becomes the channel through which people will experience God's love for them.

I would like to congratulate the twenty eight children from St. Denis who received First Communion On May 1, Saturday. Congratulations!
