Dear Parishioners,
There is a common theme that runs through the readings of this Sunday: God's mercy to the sinner, His offer of reconciliation to those who have rejected His love. The parable of the Prodigal Son speaks of the forgiving love the father has for both his sons. Both his sons hurt their father. The father forgave his younger son who left home and squandered his inheritance. The father was patient and kind to the older son who was unhappy with his father. God is just like the father in the parable, loving, forgiving, patient and overindulgent with us His sons and daughters.
We are starting a youth group at St. Denis in collaboration with St. Raymond's Church and the Nativity Church. There will be a meeting of young people who are interested in joining the youth group on March 28, after the 9:30 am Mass at St. Denis Parish Center. The youth director from Nativity Church, Monica Hendricks will be coming to meet the youth of our parish. I would like to invite high school students and 8th grade students who would like to join the youth group to take part in this meeting.
On March 25 at 7:00 pm there will be a communal penance service and opportunity to receive the sacrament of reconciliation individually.
Yours Sincerely,
Fr. Jose Shaji, Pastor
