The Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

January 24, 2009

Dear Parishioners,

I am very grateful to you for your donation to the people of Haiti. You have been very generous. Thank you!

We had the senior luncheon on January 19, Tuesday, in spite of the fact that we had no electricity that day. I would like to thank Juliana Johnson and Sr. de Chantal for their ability to change plans and to put together a lunch for the seniors. Thank you!

The Unity Octave begins on January 18, the feast of St. Peter's Chair in Rome, to January 25, the feast of the conversion of St. Paul. Christians all over the world pray for unity during this week. Let us not dwell on the differences we have with other denominations. Let us concentrate on our common faith in the person of Jesus, our common mission to transform the world and our common rule of life to love one another as Christ loved us. As part of the celebration of Unity Octave a few of our parishioners from OLW will be joining the worship service at Ladera Community Church and some of the members of the Ladera Community Church will join the OLW community to worship this Sunday. I would like to welcome them to OLW Church!

Yours Sincerely,
Fr. Jose Shaji, Pastor
