The Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

January 17, 2009

Dear Parishioners,

The earthquake that took place in Haiti with all the loss of life and property is inviting all of us to reach out in generosity. In the Gospel reading this Sunday Jesus changed water into wine at the wedding feast in Cana. The miracle was due to the insistence of Mary his mother and the sensitivity of Jesus. Jesus saved the newlyweds from a lot of embarrassment and a disastrous wedding reception. Miracles still do happen. God works miracles through his people. Through our generosity it is possible for humanitarian miracles to take place in Haiti. To support the people of Haiti we will be taking a second collection today. May our generosity bring relief to the people who are suffering in Haiti.

I would also like to thank you for your generosity during this Christmas. You have been extremely generous during this Christmas season! Thank you for your generosity!

Last Sunday the Confirmation students were at Vallombrosa for a retreat in preparation for their Confirmation. I am very grateful to the students and the parents for their overwhelming reponse. Fifty two of our Students from the first and second year program took part in the retreat!

Yours Sincerely,
Fr. Jose Shaji, Pastor
